Vanessa Wu explores the VIP areas on board ships.

A number of cruise lines have created special VIP areas which are designed for those who love all the aspects of big ship cruising – the food, the entertainment, the water slides and the rides – but also want some peace and quiet away from the rest of the ship.

Most of the private areas have their own access and come with additional amenities including private dining rooms, gyms, separate pool areas and even butler service.

And you’ll often find well-appointed suites – everything from spa suites to garden penthouses.

Here, we’ve surveyed the best of the best.
