Sapphire Princess


• For a truly unique celebration, hop onboard Princess Cruises’ Sapphire Princess’s 11-night Solar Eclipse cruise. The sailing visits Nha Trang, Phu My, Sihanoukville, Laem Chabang, Ko Samui and Port Klang, with Christmas Day spent at sea.


Festive events include a Christmas Eve party in the atrium with a live band and a surprise appearance by Santa Claus on Christmas Day. Guests can also soak in the holiday atmosphere with Yuletide carollers and decorative wreaths, mistletoe and Christmas trees galore.


Festive menus will include seasonal delights such as roast turkey, chocolate Yuletide logs and Christmas cookies. Celebrations continue on Boxing Day (December 26) with a viewing of the annular solar eclipse along the Straits of Melaka. The New Year sailing of Sapphire Princess from December 28 to January 7 will also feature a countdown party with music, confetti and a toast.

Quantum of the Seas


• Filled with loads of high-tech goodies – think robotic bartenders and skydiving simulator iFly – Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas will have her Christmas sailing on December 23 and New Year’s Eve sailing on December 28. Both Spice of Southeast Asia 5-night cruises will visit Port Klang, Penang and Phuket.


Passengers can look forward to a Christmas show, midnight mass and Christmas carols with featured singers and an orchestra pianist. There will also be festive activities such as gift giving with Santa, Christmas trivia games, movie screenings and a gift-box and card-making class.


As for New Year, the ship will celebrate with New Year’s Eve karaoke and a party culminating in the popular balloon drop to usher in 2020.

Genting Dream


• This school-holiday season, Dream Cruises teams up with Warner Bros. to bring cruisers on Genting Dream the first ever Justice League At Sea.


The ship’s main lobby will feature extensive Justice League decorations, and guests will have the opportunity to meet five Justice League superheroes – Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Batman, Superman and The Flash. Balcony staterooms will be transformed into Justice League thematic cabins, as well.


Cruisers can participate in fun activities too, including superhero-themed game challenges, a kids’ costume party and arts and crafts such as t-shirt and tote-bag painting.


Justice League At Sea’s Christmas sailing departs on December 22 and the 5-night itinerary stops at Penang, Phuket and the Mergui Archipelago.

Costa Fortuna


• Costa Cruises’ festive offerings include a 5-night Christmas cruise visiting Langkawi, Phuket, Penang and Port Klang, and a 6-night New Year cruise with stops at Sihanoukville, Laem Chabang and Koh Samui.


Among the holiday highlights are a special in-house Magic of Christmas Show, a Christmas pool party, a Gift Exchange under the Christmas Tree, a Secret Santa gift exchange for teens, Christmas arts and crafts, as well as scavenger hunts.

Other destinations are Ko Samui, Ho Chi Minh City, Kota Kinabalu, Jakarta, Komodo, Darwin, Cooktown, Cairns and Airlie Beach.


Fares start from US$18,949+ for a Deluxe Veranda Suite.
